The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a very scenic country, although small. With luscious green hills to the north and The Ardennes, Luxembourg’s tourist industry is still a small one. Letzeburgesch is the official language of Luxembourg, but most people in Luxembourg speak either French, German, or English. A handshake is an acceptable way to greet people and when visiting someone at their home, flowers are brought along as a gift. The people of Luxembourg dress casually, but wear formal clothing at clubs and other social functions. Smoking is not a good idea in public areas, due to many restrictions and laws regarding smoking as well as personal taste of the majority of the population of Luxembourg.
Luxembourg, the capital of Luxembourg is a great place to visit and explore. The Village of Viaden, within the city of Luxembourg, is known for its famous landmark which is a cliff top castle. A taxi can be taken to travel around the city, although they charge 10% more between the hours of 10PM and 6AM as well as 25% extra charged on Sundays. Luxembourg’s luxury hotels are mostly located in Luxembourg City, but other options include beautifully decorated guest houses as well as short term apartments. Luxembourg is famous for their crystal which is produced in Villeroy and Boch as well as their earthenware pottery which is produced in Nospelt. Tax on goods in Luxembourg is

The airport in Luxembourg is 5 kilometers from the city and generally takes 20 minutes to reach. At the airport there are many duty free shops, currency conversion stations, banks, tourist information centers, and places to rent cars. Another way to travel to Luxembourg is through Eurostar, which provides railway service from many major cities in Europe to Luxembourg. Tickets on Eurostar can be booked at a station, online, or by phone, although a £5 fee is charged when ordering by phone. For traveling within Luxembourg there is the Inter-Rail. Passes on the Inter-Rail can be purchased for unlimited travel within 29 countries in Europe. When driving to Luxembourg, there is a ferry service for cars for passage between Dover and Calair. It is advised that travelers check with the ferry ahead of time to make sure there is space available for their vehicle, especially during rush hours. When driving through Luxembourg, drivers stay on the right hand side. Drinking and driving is illegal in Luxembourg as well as driving (or riding) without a seat belt firmly in place.
Duty free items include up to 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250g total of tobacco, one liter of hard liquor or two liters of wine or two liters of liqueur wine. 50g of perfume and 250ml of eau de toilette are allowed, 500g of coffee and 200g of coffee extract are allowed, and 100g of tea and 40g of tea extract are allowed. Travelers must be over 17 years old to carry any tobacco or alcohol across borders or throughout Luxembourg.
