If you want to see animals in San Diego, then you should add San Diego Wild Animal Park to your list. This park is spread over 1,800 acres, wherein many animals play and roam free, just as they would in the wild. You may even feel as if you’re in Asia or Africa as you watch them!
Over its thirty year history, the San Diego Wild Animal Park has helped save hundreds of endangered species. The Arabian Oryx, for instance, may not still be in existence if it wasn’t for the many descendants roaming around the San Diego Wild Animal Park.
The park contains different paths for visitors to take in order to see all the smaller animal exhibits. And while the small animals are wonderful to see, you should consider taking an hour or so to ride on the Bush Line Railway. Along the way, you can behold large animals that you may never get to see anywhere else, such as the rhinoceros.
If you’d like to visit during the summer, you should consider going in early. A normal summer day at the San Diego Wild Animal Park can consist of thousands of visitors! The winter months bring in much less—maybe two thousand or so per day. The park obviously is frequented less during colder months.
So where is the San Diego Wild Animal Park? It’s just over thirty miles north of Escondido. You will find that the park is a very peaceful area, which is a wonderful environment for those animals that make the park their home.
If you visit during the summer, you should also walk around for awhile in addition to taking the railway. Walk around before and after your railway ride. While exploring, don’t forget to use sunscreen. Water is a must have as well. The summer heat in California can be extremely hot!
The San Diego Zoological Society runs the Wild Animal Park as well as the Zoo. Both of which are very popular animal parks, and receive visitors from all over the world. Thanks to the hard work dedication of the Zoological Society, the zoo and the park are wonderful places to visit animals and wildlife.
If you plan on visiting San Diego soon, you should visit the Wild Animal Park. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or not, you can see some endangered species up close. There is a lot you can learn about them, and you will enjoy every single second of your visit!
