Nature offers individuals the perfect opportunity to commune with themselves and indulge in some soul-searching. Living entirely in the lap of nature, in a mountain cabin and trekking to the nearest pond to fish, is for most people, a vacation in heaven. Among the places that make the perfect destination for cabin fishing vacations is Canada, with its beautiful wilderness and ample fish varieties.
Cabin fishing vacations, although don’t provide these conveniences, are far better options for individuals who want to spend an adventurous vacation.
Canada has an extensive stretches of uninhabited land and forest right from the sea level to the peaks of the Rockies. This region is hotspot for hunting enthusiasts as a variety of game such as Elk, Caribou and Reindeer flock these lands. However, animal rights groups allege that excessive hunting is destroying the country’s fauna and serious protests have taken place to the effect. But the government has yet to enforce a ban on hunting due to the profits that are made out of legalized hunting seasons. Unlike hunting large animals, fishing is not considered controversial since it is the staple form of livelihood in the region.
The streams come alive with all types of salmon, form Chinook to Pink, in the annual spawning season making Canadian provinces the best fishing grounds in the world. Other fish such as Pike, Sturgeon and Steelheads are also available in plenty and the best places to set up camp are British Columbia, Chilliwack and Fraser valley. These places have been developed to some extent as tourist attractions with cabins and mountain lodges that offer a recluse to visitors. In spring, travelers can emerge from these cabins and walk down to the river and lakes to indulge in some fly-fishing and spend the afternoon on the shore cooking their catch. In the early months of autumn and winter, travelers can take to ice fishing and spend hours on the frozen lakes hoping to catch a bite.
